How is Odorex different from enzyme-based products?
Enzyme products break down odour compounds naturally — but they're neutralised by detergents and cleaning residues, which means they often fail on carpet that's been cleaned before. Odorex works differently, through counteraction, bonding and absorption, eliminating the odour molecule on contact regardless of what's been used previously.
Which product do I need — COE, AOE, or PCC?
Cat Odour Eliminator is the right starting point for cat urine — it's a pour bottle designed to soak porous surfaces like carpet. If the area is hard to reach, Animal Odour Eliminator in a spray bottle is easier to use. For large areas or multiple animals, Pet Cleanup Concentrate makes up to 25L of solution and is the most economical option.
Is it safe around my pets and family?
Yes. Odorex is non-toxic and safe once dry — no rinsing required. Briefly ventilate enclosed areas after use and avoid spraying directly onto animals.
How to use
Odorex works on contact with the solution so ensure you use enough to soak the affected area and penetrate the surface to reach the source of the odour.
1. Remove as much waste as possible from area.
2. Open lid and remove seal (if present), screw lid back on and press the top of the cap to open.
3. Thoroughly soak all the area where the cat has sprayed or urinated, making sure that the liquid penetrates right to the source of the odour and allow to dry.
4. If the smell persists, Odorex has not reached the cause of the problem and the treatment should be repeated.
5. Gentle rubbing with a sponge soaked in Odorex will remove most stains.
6. For maximum safety keep out of reach of children and spot test delicate fabrics before use.

I use it to clean the litter box - also great to use in the rubbish or wheelie bins. Have used it in the past to clean up after a cat missed the litter box.
This product is at full strength out of the bottle so no need to dilute it. However in order to thoroughly soak the affected area as indicated in the directions, you could easily use up a whole bottle. For $20 per stain that seems... kind of expensive? I'm used to removing stains from carpet with the wet + stamp on a towel method and I did this here because the stain was fairly old. The cat urine smell isn't completely gone however so I think I did expect better.
